The average lifespan for laminate is 15-25 years, which can vary depending on the quality of the flooring, the installation and how heavily the area is trafficked. While it is water resistant, it’s not waterproof. Therefore, it’s very important to hire an experienced flooring contractor who knows to install the seams so tight, they are practically impenetrable to water. If any of the flooring gets damaged or wears out, it cannot be refinished.
